FUNDRAISING. I RECENTLY WAS ASKED, WHY DO YOU DO IT?
GOOD QUESTION!
I guess the ‘corporate’ answer would be to ultimately create social change and have an impact. But how do you measure the amount of impact your organisation or NGO’s make? And how do you go about making impact in the first place?
We spend so much time, planning, preparing, fundraising, that we often forget to look at what lays beyond once we have achieved what we originally set out to do and more importantly to measure it. How do we know if we have truly been successful if we don’t know exactly what we have achieved. Also how do we know what we have achieved impacts on the larger vision and mission of our organisation?
Sounds like a daunting task, I know, but don’t worry, organisations like Sinzer have an impact measurement platform to help you do just that, measure your impact.
Here’s a short video to help explain how it all works
At the next First Friday Fundraisers Session on 01 April we will be joined by Marlon van Dijk, Managing Director of Sinzer. Marlon will be explaining about what impact is and why it is important to measure it. We will also be looking at how can you be sure you are really making a difference in the lives of the people you are trying to help.
The agenda of the morning will be :
- Why impact measurement is important?
- What is impact?
- How do you measure it?
- Exercise: understanding outcomes
- More than just an annual report – how to implement it
- What is Sinzer?
